Trench Town Polytechnic College is committed to serving Jamaica in an environment dedicated to student success. The College has an open admission policy and is focused on educational excellence and the achievement of equity among the various populations served. The College strives to promote in students a sense of responsibility for their own development and an understanding of their obligations as members of a democratic society. Our Team fosters in students the desire to learn, the ability to think critically, and communicate effectively. We inspire the habit of critical reflection, the value of spirituality, a strong sense of self-worth and care of the environment.
Nestled in the environs of the South St. Andrew community lies the Trench Town High School, a gift from the British Government. The school was built in 1963 and officially opened on January 4, 1964 by the then British High Commissioner to Jamaica, His Excellency Sir Alexander Morley. This ‘oasis in the desert’ was formerly named the Trench Town Senior School but, was later renamed Trench Town Comprehensive High School by the then Minister of Education, Mr. Edwin Allen.
